The Japanese government has announced on 3rd November the recipient of the imperial order. Within Switzerland was Mr. Heribert Nikolaus Haag (president of the Swiss-Japanese Society) for his achievements awarded with «The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon».
Mr. Haag has with lots of enthusiasm over several decades contributed an important part to the promotion of understanding between and to strengthen Swiss-Japanese understanding. Since the year 2003, he has held the position of the 5th president of Swiss-Japanese Society and with those he has initiated various cultural events. He also engaged various events in cooperation with the Japanese Embassy within Switzerland and has taken an important role during the Jubilee year 2014 in we celebrated «150 years of the diplomatic relationship between Japan and Switzerland». Also such thing as the print of special issue stamps featuring traditional arts as Kabuki and Bunraku have been realized thanks to his efforts.
The Japanese Embassy of Switzerland would like to thank him for his numerous efforts towards deeping the Japanese-Swiss Relationship and the continuous cooperation, therefore we congratulate him to our hearts content to the awarded order.
